Everyone keeps saying women's sport is having a moment. Watch Aryna Sabalenka walk off court and you will see it is bigger than that. The tennis is changing what we watch. The style is changing what we buy.

The world number one has a jewellery habit, and it is a good one. On court she keeps it tight. A few fine chains, small drops in the ear, a beaded bracelet that survives three sets. Off court she lets it go. Chunky gold links. Sapphire drops the length of her jaw. A cuff set with colourful stones, worn with a white T-shirt and a Cavalier King Charles on her hip.

What I like most is that her taste reads the same in both places. Gold, always. Colour, often. Nothing so precious she is scared to wear it. That is the mark of someone who enjoys her jewellery rather than someone who has been dressed.

There is a practical reason it works too. Players spend months testing what stays put through a serve. Weight, length, clasp. The pieces that survive are the ones worth copying, because they have already passed the hardest wear test there is.

If you take one thing from her, take the gold. It ties a bright stone to a plain tee, and a beaded bracelet to a tennis dress. Start with a piece you would wear to the shops and to a wedding, and build outward from there.
