East-West Ovals Are Hailey's Everyday Earring
In Paris, 12 carats of mismatched diamonds. In LA, east-west ovals for her Adanola launch. Here's how I'd wear her favourite earring from Monday to Saturday night.
I have a theory about Hailey Bieber's jewellery box. Whatever is in there, she keeps reaching for the same thing: a diamond that hangs from a small gold hoop.
Look at her last two big nights out. At Saint Laurent in Paris at the end of September she wore a pair of asymmetric diamond hoops, which WWD counted at 12.19 carats. The four stones don't match. One ear has an old European-cut diamond and a small heart, the other a cushion cut and a round brilliant. She wore them with a suit, nothing around her neck, and a 6.01-carat pear ring turned slightly to one side.

"She treats a party earring as an everyday one."
Two weeks later, on 13 October in Los Angeles, she went back to the same jeweller for the launch party of her ballet-inspired Adanola collection. Marie Claire identified the earrings as diamond drop hoops with east-west oval stones, which means the long side of each oval runs across the lobe. The dress was a custom Ferragamo halter mini covered in crystals, styled by Dani Michelle, and Irinel de León slicked her hair into a ballet bun. There was no necklace. The halter strap did that job.

Who What Wear noticed the same habit back in September. Hailey dresses her drop earrings down, wearing them with a bikini on holiday or while she gets ready for a night out, and they turn up with almost everything she wears. That's the part I'd copy.
Here's why the shape works. An east-west oval sits wide on the lobe, so it catches the light from the front when you're talking to someone across a table. Hung from a small hoop, it moves a little when you turn your head, and because it's one stone on a short hoop it won't fight a collar or a ponytail.
Her LA drops are the easiest to read up close: a round stone at the lobe and a pear hanging underneath. The Versa is built the same way, a pear stud with a drop you attach below it.

Oval Huggies with the oval on in your first hole and something small in the second. Hair back and no necklace, so the earring is the only thing catching the light.
One of each, like her mismatched hoops: an Oval Huggie on one ear and the Versa with its drop on the other. Keep to one metal so it looks deliberate.
If you're starting with one pair, start with the Versa, because it's two earrings in one. On its own, each earring is a pear-cut stud that sits close to the lobe, small enough for work or a lazy Sunday. When you want more, attach the detachable Oval Cut Drop underneath the stud and you're wearing a full drop earring for dinner. Take it off the next morning and you're back to studs.

If you'd rather wear a hoop, the Oval Huggies play the same trick. By day it's a plain 12mm huggie that goes with anything. At night the 1 carat east-west oval goes on, and that's the shape she wore in LA.

If you only buy one thing after reading this, make it the Versa. Wear the pear studs until Friday, then attach the drops. If you're more of a hoop person, start with the Oval Huggies instead.
