The Jewelry Trend Worth Investing In: Diamond Oval Stud
Alexandra Leclerc's latest Instagram post shows a single oval stud worn with her hair tucked back. Here's why I think the shape is worth buying, and how I'd wear it.
In her last few posts, Alexandra Leclerc has worn the same thing in her ears: one small diamond stud and nothing else. She wears it with a black knit at home and with a beaded top when she's getting ready to go out, and it looks right both times.
That's the reason I love a single stud. You don't have to plan around it. It suits a T-shirt on a Tuesday and it still holds up when you're dressed for dinner, because it's small enough to forget about and bright enough to notice when the light hits it. You don't need to change it when your outfit changes. It's also why this kind of jewellery is worth spending on. Something you wear every day pays for itself far sooner than a pair you save for one night out, and a big oval diamond stud is the best example of that I know.

If I were copying her, I'd pick an oval. An oval stone looks a little longer than a round one of the same carat weight, so it shows up more on the lobe without looking bigger.
Start with the il Ovale Stud 4 Carat. It has 2 carats per ear of 5A simulated diamond in a four-prong setting, and it comes in 18k gold vermeil or 925 sterling silver. If you want something smaller, the il Ovale Stud 1 Carat is the same oval shape at 0.5 carats per ear.
I'd wear it with a black knit and my hair tucked behind my ear, the way Alexandra does, and keep any necklace small. It also looks good with your hair in a ponytail.

If you're only buying one pair,
I'd go for the 4 carat.
